We are delighted to be starting 2026 with our new Wider Community Engagement Officer (WCEO), Getaneh Alemu, in place. He has previously been serving as WCEO Elect, September - December 2025.

RSC Chair Renate Behrens joined outgoing RSC Representative to North America Robert L. Maxwell and RSC Representative Elect Trina Soderquist in welcoming Thomas Brenndorfer as Back-up Representative to North America. He will succeed current Back-up Melanie Polutta on 1 January 2026. 

On behalf of the RDA Steering Committee, Chair Renate Behrens extended her congratulations to the North American RDA Committee (NARDAC) on their appointment as Trina Soderquist as RSC Representative Elect. Trina will succeed Robert L.

On behalf of the RDA Steering Committee, Oceania Representative Jack Ennis-Butler and RSC Chair Renate Behrens are delighted to welcome Bridget Jennings (pictured) as the Back-up RSC Representative to Oceania. 

On behalf of the whole RDA Steering Committee and the observers at last night's Public Session, RSC Chair Renate Behrens would like to thank Aimee Hay (National State Libraries Australasia) for her pre-recorded presentation on the NSLA Official RDA Project. 

In our November Meeting, RSC Members share their annual reports. These are published in the appendix to the Minutes and used by the RSC Chair and Secretary when they are drafting the RSC's Annual Report. 

In last night's Public Session, Technical Team Liaison Officer Chris Holden (pictured) introduced the Technical Working Group's Discussion Paper on Soft-deprecated Parallel Elements which is now out for Community Review. 

In last night's Public Session, the Chair of the Extent Working Group, Thomas Brenndorfer (pictured), introduced the 8 proposals that the Working Group has submitted for discussion in the Public Session of the January 2026 Meeting on Wednesday 21 January 2026 at 19:00 - 21:00 UTC.
