Jack Ennis Butler, RSC Representative for Oceania

Jack Ennis Butler is currently Metadata and Discovery Librarian at CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) in Australia. He has worked in special and research libraries and at the National Library of Australia in a variety of roles including cataloguing and reference. He has also worked in the university sector supporting the delivery of metadata courses.

October 2025 RDA Toolkit Release

The latest release to RDA Toolkit took place on October 9 and includes changes the wording of authorized and preferred access points across all entities. There are corrections and fixes based on feedback submitted to RDA Toolkit and changes to the Guidance chapter on Aggregates.

Getaneh Alemu, Wider Community Engagement Officer Elect

Getaneh Alemu completed his PhD from the University of Portsmouth (2014), where he developed a theory of metadata enriching and filtering using a grounded theory method. He also holds an MA in Digital Library Learning (Oslo University College, 2009), an MA in Knowledge and Information Management (Ghent University, 2005) and a BA in Library and Information Science (Addis Ababa University, 2001).
