In 2022, Elisa Sze, Education and Orientation Officer, published a “Report on Approaches to Teaching RDA in the LIS Classroom”.

A new release was posted to RDA Toolkit last week. The March 2024 release includes light changes to RDA content, the introduction of the new Community Resources space, and the additon of the Orientation version of the Guidance menu in French and Finnish languages.

The RDA Board, an international group of library professionals, is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the development of RDA and ensuring good governance of the project. They also have a role to play in raising the profile of RDA in their region.

This presentation by Damian Iseminger, the Technical Committee Liaison Officer to the RDA Steering Committee, the structure of RDA, the relationship between entities and their elements, and how this structure might inform decisions about what elements to use. The presentation was given online on February 26, 2024.

A new release was posted to RDA Toolkit this week. The January 2024 release includes a couple of improvements to the RDA Toolkit, a couple of element name changes, and the introduction of a policy statements from Library and Archives Canada/Bibliothèque et Archives Canada in both English and French (LAC PS and BAC ÉP respectively).

James Hennelly, director of RDA Toolkit, will host a free webinar on December 19th. He will review recent updates to the Toolkit and preview some changes that will appear in the next year. Half the allotted time will be held open for questions from attendees. The webinar will be recorded and posted to the RDA Toolkit YouTube channel.
