New Spanish Translation and Distribution Agreement
ALA Publishing, acting on behalf of the copyright holders of RDA: Description and Access has signed an agreement with the Association of Ibero-American States for the Development of the National Libraries of Ibero-America (ABINIA) for a Spanish language translation of the official RDA Toolkit.
RDA: Resource Description and Access is a flexible standard for recording bibliographic metadata and serves as a basis for the international exchange of bibliographic metadata. The RDA copyright is held jointly by the American Library Association (ALA), the Canadian Federation of Library Associations (CFLA), and the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP, United Kingdom), through their imprint Facet Publishing.
ABINIA is an association of national libraries from Latin America, Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean region, and the Iberian Peninsula. It was established in 1989 and includes 18 member libraries. Its members are focused on strengthening the impact of national libraries in the Ibero-American community on cultural and educational progress through international collaboration.
In addition, ALA Publishing has signed an agreement with Información Científica Internacional (ICI Group) to become the new distributor of RDA Toolkit and official RDA products throughout Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Region and Spain.
Starting July 2, 2024, all new subscription requests and renewals in the LAC region and Spain must be made through ICI Group:

Los derechos de autor de la RDA pertenecen conjuntamente a la Asociación Estadounidense de Bibliotecas (ALA), la Federación Canadiense de Asociaciones de Bibliotecas (CFLA) y el Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP, Reino Unido), a través de su sello Facet Publishing.
ALA Publishing, actuando en nombre de los titulares de los derechos de autor de RDA: Descripción y Acceso a Recursos, ha firmado un acuerdo con la Asociación de Estados Iberoamericanos para el Desarrollo de las Bibliotecas Nacionales de Iberoamérica (ABINIA) para una traducción al español del RDA Toolkit oficial.
Además, ALA Publishing, ha firmado un acuerdo con Información Científica Internacional (Grupo ICI) para convertirse en el nuevo distribuidor del RDA Toolkit y de los productos oficiales de RDA en toda América Latina,el Caribe (LAC) y España.
A partir del 2 de julio de 2024, todas las nuevas solicitudes de suscripción y renovaciones en la región LAC y España deben realizarse a través de Grupo ICI:
