A new release of RDA Toolkit will be published on October 10, 2017. When there is a new release for RDA Toolkit, it is typically made on the second Tuesday of the month. Releases typically contain changes to content and metadata, enhancements to RDA Toolkit functionality, and fixes to existing bugs. The details of the October release follow.
Members of the RSC participated in a meeting on "Impact of the IFLA Library Reference Model on ISBD, RDA and other bibliographic standards" at Wrocław University Library on 25 August 2017, following the IFLA World Library and Information Congress. Information on that meeting can be found on the RSC website.
Significant advancements have been made toward the completion of the 3R project (also known as the RDA Toolkit Restructure and Redesign Project), and unexpected obstacles have arisen. Both the progress made and the obstacles encountered have made clear that the original goal of an April rollout of the redesigned Toolkit is no longer feasible.
This is the third status report for the RDA Toolkit Restructure and Redesign Project (3R) project. Since the last status report in July the 3R Project team has accomplished the following--
The RDA Steering Committee (RSC) will be convening at the Biblioteca Nacional de España in Madrid this October. The RSC will meet in closed session from October 24th through 26th, but there will also be holding a special outreach event on October 23rd that free and open to anyone.

As work on the 3R Project progresses, we have had to make adjustments to plans for the releases in 2017. The upcoming August release was intended to be the last release of 2017.
This is the second status report for the RDA Toolkit Restructure and Redesign Project. The 3R project has been proceeding with an extended string of discussions with developers as well as with the RDA Steering Committee (RSC). These discussions have led to decisions in some cases and further questions in others. And it is important to note that real work is underway.
