In 2017 the Co-Publishers of RDA and RDA Toolkit will undertake a major project to enhance the RDA Toolkit website so that it can better meet the needs of its users and play a more productive role in their work. The Toolkit debuted in 2010 and by any standard practice it is time for a site redesign to adjust to changes to the online environment.
A new release of RDA Toolkit was published on October 18, 2016. Releases typically contain updates to content and metadata, enhancements to RDA Toolkit functionality, and fixes to existing bugs. An online version of AACR2 has been included in the RDA Toolkit subscription since its launch in July 2010. As catalogers and other metadata professionals prepare to implement RDA, having access to both RDA and AACR2 through the same subscription should increase efficiency and productivity.

In 2012 ALA Publishing, on behalf of the RDA Co-Publishers, and Rojas Eberhard Editores announced an agreement that granted the Bogotá-based publisher permission to translate RDA: Resource Description and Access into Spanish and to publish and distribute the print version of Spanish-language RDA.
In 2012 ALA Publishing, on behalf of the RDA Co-Publishers, and National Library of China Publishing House announced an agreement for the translation of RDA: Resource Description and Access into the Chinese language. The National Library of China Publishing House will translate and publish a print version of RDA in Chinese and distribute it in China and globally.
Nel 2014 è stato firmato l’accordo tra ALA Publishing, per conto dei co-editori di RDA, e l’Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo Unico delle Biblioteche Italiane (ICCU) per i diritti di traduzione dello standard internazionale per la descrizione e l'accesso alle risorse RDA Resource Description and Access.
Die deutsche Übersetzung von RDA: Resource Description and Access wurde von der Arbeitsstelle für Standardisierung der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek erstellt und am 14. Mai 2013 erstmals im RDA-Toolkit veröffentlicht.
Au nom des co-éditeurs de RDA, ALA Publishing a conclu en 2012 avec l’ASTED (Association pour l’avancement des sciences et des techniques de la documentation) un accord pour la traduction en langue française de RDA: Resource Description and Access.
