On Thursday, August 16, a small update was made to the RDA Toolkit beta site. In addition to fixed links, corrected typos and other minor changes to the text, the update also included several significant changes to the site display and functionality. Here some of the key changes.
The Copyright Holders of RDA are pleased to confirm that an agreement has been reached with Biblioteca Alexandrina for an Arabic translation of RDA. The translation will appear on RDA Toolkit following the conclusion of the 3R Project.

The beta site marks an important milestone in the progress of the 3R Project, but it does not represent the completion of the 3R Project.
A document describing the “Outcomes of the RDA Toolkit Restructure and Redesign Project” by RSC Chair Gordon Dunsire has been posted on the RSC website as RSC/Chair/19.
An open discussion of the impact on the MARC 21 encoding standard by changes to RDA is being planned for the ALA Annual meeting in New Orleans. The discussion will take place on Monday, 25 June 2018 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. in the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, Churchill C room.
The initial release of the redesigned RDA Toolkit remains June 13, 2018. Because of the complexity of changes to both the content and structure of the RDA standard, however, expectations for that initial release and the subsequent revision timetable have changed. The June 13th release will be a beta version of the new site in English only. It will include the following:
The RDA Toolkit Redesign Update and Preview preconference on Friday, June 22, 2018 will be subtitled "A Practical Introduction to the New RDA Toolkit."
A beta version of the new Toolkit for community feedback will be publicly released on June 13.
The RDA Steering Committee (RSC) has moved forward in its implementation of the governance model announced by the RDA Board in 2015.
