Minutes of the November 2024 RSC Meeting Published
At its January Meeting the RDA Steering Committee approved the publication of the Minutes of its Meeting held in November 2024 at the American Library Association Washington Office and the Library of Congress (RSC/Minutes/483-499).
Several decisions were made at the November Meeting which required approval from the RDA Board, notably the creation of a new class of Working Group - Advisory Working Groups - which allows for experts to come together over a longer period of time to work on issues the RSC has identified.
The Religions in RDA Working Group has now been constituted as an Advisory Working Group and the new Archives Working Group, which meets for the first time today, is also an Advisory Working Group. In the January Meeting, updates to RSC Operations Documents were approved and those of you interested in the working of these groups can read about them in RSC/Operations/1/2025 and RSC/Operations/3/2025.
As RSC Chair Renate Behrens stressed in the Public Session of the RSC on 23 January, all RSC Working Groups are open to new members - please get in touch with the Working Group's Chair if you are interested in getting involved (listed here - for Archives Working Group you can get in touch with RSCchair@rdatoolkit.org).
RSC/Minutes/483-499 also includes a summary of the discussion of the Extent Discussion Paper. We are looking forward to receiving proposals from the RSC Extent Working Group based on the feedback you gave us in the November Meeting and by email.
The Minutes for the January 2025 Meeting will be out soon, and we look forward to welcoming observers to our next Public Session on Tuesday 8 April (link to all the 2025 Public Session dates here).
