Due to changes related to the recent site migration, we have encountered a major issue related to profile logins. In order to resolve this issue we have had to make a change to how IP authentication works. Users will no longer be instantly logged into their account with IP authentication.
On Tuesday, January 18th, ALA Digital Reference presented the RDA Roundtable on Policy Statements as its latest free virtual event.
The issues related to the recent site migration are now largely resolved. The site migration also included a switch to new authentication service, and as a result some practices will be altered. These new practices are described below.
Profiles
Unfortunately we have encountered several unexpected problems with the server migration. I apologize for how these problems have negatively affected users work and events. I did want to give everyone a detailed run down of the issues we are facing and the current status of our attempts to resolve these issues.
RDA Toolkit is experiencing login issues related to the recent server migration. We apologize for the interruption to service that some are facing. We are working hard to resolve this issue and ask for your patience.
UPDATE: As of 3pm CST on January 14th, the migration is complete.
In December 2021 and January 2022, the American Library Association offered free RDA Toolkit demos in the French and Spanish languages respectively.
In October, Melissa Parent (State Library of Victoria, Australia) presented the ALA Digital Reference webinar RDA Application Profiles: A Practical Guide for the Perplexed.
From July through September, ALA Digital Reference partnered with RDA catalogers in Egypt, Finland, Quebec, Ontario, and the U.S.
The migration of RDA Toolkit and the original RDA Toolkit to new servers will not occur during the week of October 25th, as previously planned. It is not clear when exactly the migration will occur, but it is expected to move before the end of 2021. You can learn more about the migration and its impact here.
