An Update on 2017 Toolkit Releases

As work on the 3R Project progresses, we have had to make adjustments to plans for the releases in 2017. The upcoming August release was intended to be the last release of 2017.
This is the second status report for the RDA Toolkit Restructure and Redesign Project. The 3R project has been proceeding with an extended string of discussions with developers as well as with the RDA Steering Committee (RSC). These discussions have led to decisions in some cases and further questions in others. And it is important to note that real work is underway.
Last month the European RDA Interest Group, also known as EURIG, met for their seventh annual meeting. The first day of the meeting was held at Università degli Studi di Firenze in Florence and the second day was held in the nearby town of Fiesole, home of host Casalini Libri.
RDA Toolkit and the RDA Steering Committee will host two events at the ALA Annual Conference in Chicago. We hope you are able to join us for one or both of these events.

A new release of RDA Toolkit will be published on April 11, 2017. When there is a new release for RDA Toolkit, it is typically made on the second Tuesday of the month. Releases typically contain changes to content and metadata, enhancements to RDA Toolkit functionality, and fixes to existing bugs. You can subscribe to our RSS development feed to get notification of releases.

The RDA Board, which is responsible for setting the strategic direction for the development of RDA, will meet next month in London. In anticipation of the April meeting the Board recently announced the current appointments for the April meeting. Attendees will include new American Library Association representative Keri Cascio and Latin American representative Angela Quiroz Ubierna.
