At the EURIG Annual Meeting 15-16th May, 2024, EURIG elected Hannes Lowagie (KBR Royal Library of Belgium) as new vice-chair and Emilie Ullerup (Royal Danish Library) as new secretary

2023

In May 4th, 2023 EURIG elected Jenny Wright (BDS) as its new chair.

A brief history of EURIG

The European RDA Interest Group (EURIG) was formed in response to the growing need for a regional framework to discuss and implement the Resource Description and Access (RDA) cataloging standard within the European library community. Established in 2011, EURIG aims to provide a collective voice for European libraries in the global RDA community, ensuring that the unique needs and perspectives of European institutions are taken into account.

EURIG brings together libraries, cataloging experts, and information professionals from across the continent to promote best practices in resource description and enhance the accessibility and interoperability of bibliographic data.

EURIG is pleased to announce the EURIG representative to the RDA Steering Committee for 2025-2027 is Ahava Cohen, extending her position for a second term. In addition, Szabolcs Dancs will continue as back-up representative. EURIG is well-served by such knowledgeable and experienced representatives, and is grateful for their continued service.
