Recordings our new available for our two free webinars held July 16th and August 4th respectively. Led by ALA Digital Reference Director James Hennelly, the first free webinar was a one-hour RDA Toolkit Demo covering RDA Toolkit releases and updates introduced since the last demo was presented in January. It was presented live on July 16, 2021 beginning at 11 AM CDT (5 PM London time, 6 PM Cairo time). View the RDA Toolkit Demo here.
Our free webinar Incorporating the Revised RDA in an LIS Cataloging Course was presented live on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 beginning at 11 AM CDT. In Winter 2021, the presenters of this webinar - May Chan and Elisa Sze of the University of Toronto Libraries - taught RDA following the completion of the 3R Project, as part of the cataloguing course offered within the Master of Information program at the University of Toronto. Their August webinar covered the context, planning, and deliverables involved in teaching the revised RDA to a class of novice cataloguers. The presenters, who are both sessional instructors and practitioners, shared their reflections on factors that improve the learning of the revised RDA, pedagogical approaches that worked, and ones that did not work.
