RSC Secretary position available
The RDA Steering Committee (RSC) is seeking a qualified library professional to fill the role of RSC Secretary.
The RSC Secretary provides administrative support to the international RDA Steering Committee (RSC), creates and preserves the official records and reports of the RSC, and serves as the primary content management system editor of RDA.
This is a half-time, paid position with a three-year term, with the possibility of renewal. It is not possible to take on this position in addition to full-time work elsewhere. Work is done 100% remotely as an independent contractor. This position is not an employee of ALA. The salary is set in negotiation with the Director of ALA Digital Reference, and compensation is paid in US dollars.
A full description of the position and list of required and desirable skills is in the application form.
The position will begin in mid-2022 as Secretary-Elect, overlapping with the term of the current Secretary to allow for training and a seamless transition. The fully independent Secretary role would be taken on in January 2023.
This is an exciting opportunity to be an essential part of the team responsible for developing RDA, and to expand your knowledge of linked open data, international standards work, and technological advances in metadata and bibliographic control.
The RDA Fund will cover travel, accommodation and subsistence costs for RSC meetings, and ALA Digital Reference will provide access to online collaborative tools for the online meetings.
For more information, please contact the current RSC Secretary, Linda Barnhart.
To apply for this position, please submit this application form with a supporting statement to James Hennelly, Director of ALA Digital Reference. Review of applications will begin on 01 April.
