RSC Meeting in October 2021
The October 2021 RDA Steering Committee (RSC) meeting will be a virtual meeting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This virtual meeting will span two weeks--12-15 October and 18-22 October--and will use a mix of asynchronous and synchronous (video) meeting styles. Three video calls will be scheduled during these two weeks for interactive discussions, with two in executive session and one as a public session.
It is not possible to have observers at the asynchronous parts of the meeting due to software constraints.
The public session Zoom call will take place on Monday, 18 October from 10 a.m. – 12 noon EDT. Observers are welcome to attend this video call but must register with the RSC Secretary (rscsecretary@rdatoolkit.org) to receive the link and participation instructions. Space may be limited. As usual, the RSC will not publish the recording of this meeting, which is created only for the purpose of creating accurate minutes.
As of early September, the primary agenda item for this public session will be discussion of the proposal RSC/TechnicalWG/2021/2 - Implementing the Collections Model in RDA (in four parts):
- RSC/TechnicalWG/2021/2 - Part 1: Implementing the Collections Model in RDA
- RSC/TechnicalWG/2021/2 - Part 2: Subject Hierarchy Revisions to Accommodate Collection Level Description
- RSC/TechnicalWG/2021/2 - Part 3: Collection Descriptions
- RSC/TechnicalWG/2021/2 - Part 4: Agents Related to Collections and Their Descriptions
Other agenda items may be added to the public session in the coming weeks. The full agenda for the virtual meeting will be published on the RSC website in mid-September.
Information about the discussions and decisions arising from this meeting will be available first from an Outcomes document and later from the Minutes.
