Content Updates
The release included corrections, revised examples, and Fast Track changes from the RSC. Details on these October changes are available in RSC/Sec/5 on the RSC site. It also included significant updates of the Finnish, French, German and Spanish translations of RDA. The German translation is current with the August 2016 release of the English version of RDA withe the exception of changes related to RSC/Sec/4, and the other are current with the April 2016 release. The French update was also extended to the Help pages, the RDA/MARC mappings and the Books of the Bible table. The release contained updates to British Library Policy Statements (BLPS), Library of Congress-Program for Cooperative Cataloging Policy Statements (LC-PCC PS), and the Suomalaisten kirjastojen linjaukset (SKL) from the National Library of Finland, as well as policy statements from Committee for Library Standards for the application of RDA in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, known as Anwendungsrichtlinien (D-A-CH AWRs). A complete list of the revised LC-PCC PSs is available on the Library of Congress website.
Development Updates
The synchronization of the Toolkit and the Registry that began in August continued in the October release with the extension of the synchronization into the instances of glossary terms, relationship designators, and their definitions in the instructions and appendices I-K. This development is the first phase of the larger RDA Toolkit Restructure and Redesign Project.
