RDA is a flexible standard for recording bibliographic metadata and has the potential to serve as a basis for the international exchange of bibliographic metadata across global networks. RDA’s content has been developed in a collaborative process led by the international RDA Steering Committee (RSC). The project is overseen by the RDA Board, an international entity comprised of representatives of six global regions, the copyright holders, and the RSC. The RDA copyright is jointly held by the American Library Association (ALA), Canadian Federation of Library Associations (CFLA), and the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP, UK)—through its imprint Facet Publishing.
